Navigon GPS

One of the tools that we discovered in Germany which has allowed us to travel as widely by car as we have with as few errors is our Navigon GPS. We bought the Navigon 70 Plus (http://www.navigon.com/portal/uk/shop/navigationsgeraete/produkt.html?produktFamilieId=13660421&produktId=13741640) which is an older model and, from the website, may not be available directly in the US. The company seems to be pushing their software for smart phones instead.
Regardless, our experience with Navigon has been outstanding. It is deadly accurate, rarely confused about where it is, provides intuitive driving instructions and, only rarely, does it choose an optimum route that is less than optimum. I do suggest going through the turn by turn instructions for a long trip and plotting them on a highway map, to insure it makes sense.
Unlike Europe, Navigon in the US does not seem to update to reflect traffic accidents or road construction. I found that to be very accurate on the German autobahns.
Having used the comparative items by Garmin and others, I would rate the Navigon well ahead of its peers in accuracy, route prediction and ease of driving instructions.
My money will go to Navigon again.
