Its gotten rather boring around here. We found out we can pick up our van on Monday, so we will be heading up to Richmond, CA to do that. We’re making do on air mattresses borrowed from our new neighbors until we hear about our household goods. We got the small shipment with my military stuff and some pots and pans and such.
Ive pretty well taken care of the admin stuff I can do until we begin the English language review on 9 Sep. So, we have been taking off and exploring after I get back from PT. We hit the local beaches here in Seaside and then we drove up past Carmel into the Los Padres National Forest. There are some stunning beaches and State Parks along Hwy 1. There are some very good restaurants and artsy fartsy stores along this stretch and some pieces that are pretty deserted. If antique cars are your thing, pick an overlook and just watch them role by, I bet we passed over 200 collectable cars in a 3 hour stretch.
The weather is terrible. It hasn’t gotten over 65 degrees since we got here and most days are more cloudy/misty/foggy than sunny, but there is a fair amount of sun most days.
Picked up season tickets for the Aquariam today, and came home, sat on my porch, read from David Kilcullens book “The Accidental Guerrilla” and smoked a Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 shorty.
A good day…
