Cigars and family history

Both my Grandfathers fought in WWII. And, other than a couple of pictures and one of their Bibles, I have no real knowledge of who they were during that period of their life. I really have a grand legacy of a family and I know many stories, but there is little that is tangible.

One of the things about me is I like nice things. Specifically, good beer, old scotch and fine cigars. So, one of the things I am doing this deployment is glueing my cigar bands into my notebook. This gives some idea of what I smoked when and what I thought of it. Hopefully, someday far in the future, that notebook will mean something to a grandson or great-grandson.

This was a good week. And yes, that is a Havana Cohiba 🙂
